Yamuel Marcano Rodríguez was born in San Juan Puerto Rico in 1983. He started in music in 1995 when he entered to “Escuela Libre de Musical” (school of Music). After high school he went to the Conservatory of Music in Puerto Rico doing studies in classical music for a year. Then he went to Universidad Interamericana Metro (University) to the Popular Music program were he learned about different styles and opened his mind and playing skills so that he could play almost every style of music.
Yamuel has recorded with groups from Puerto Rico as well as from USA in POP, reggae, merengue, salsa, rock and contemporary music. He has played with groups like Roberto Rohena y Apollo Sound (salsa), Luis “Perico” Ortiz Big Band (latin jazz), Los Febles (salsa), Siglo 21 (salsa), Elvis Crespo (merengue), Zone de Tambora (merengue), Karis (merengue), Mayombe (merengue), Los Rufianes (latin rock), Los Rabanes ( rock, from Panama), La Hermana de Miguel (rock), Fifty Stone (contemporary / jazz / reggae), Boyz Collective ( jazz), Yerba Bruja (reggae), La Musa (reggae), Cultura Profética (reggae, as a substitute), Fidel Nadal (reggae, from Argentine), Quique Neira (reggae, from Chile), Soja (reggae, as a substitute), IDA (reggae), Don Carlo (reggae, from Jamaica), Apple Gabriel (reggae) and more.
He has been in the house band of the of TV Shows “De Tal Palo” and “Estoy Aquí”. He also has done musicals such as “Hair Spray”, “Barrio Arriba, Barrio Abajo” and “Cabaret”.
Yamuel is playing right now as steady musician in the groups, Yerba Bruja (reggae), Velcro y Lado V (hip hop / jazz), Mima (rock contemporary), IDA (reggae) and very soon will be taking out his own project “PWA” (funk / hip hop / reggae)
